A New Direction in Integrative Wellness

Wellness is evolving.

Across the integrative and holistic health landscape, practitioners and researchers are showing growing interest in approaches that look beyond traditional wellness strategies and explore the role of energy, frequency, light, sound, vibration and the biofield in supporting overall well-being.

One area receiving increasing attention is biofield therapy—a broad category of complementary approaches that work with concepts of energy, information and the body's surrounding and interacting fields. A 2025 review published in the Journal of Integrative and Complementary Medicine examined 353 clinical studies involving biofield therapies and reported growing interest among researchers, practitioners and patients. The authors also noted increasing exploration of these approaches within integrative health and medical settings.

This growing field encompasses a wide range of practices, from traditional energy-based approaches such as Reiki, Healing Touch and Therapeutic Touch to newer technology-assisted modalities that utilize frequency, electromagnetic fields, light, sound and vibration.

The important shift is not necessarily toward one particular technology or methodology. Rather, it reflects a broader movement toward whole-person wellness—exploring multiple complementary approaches that may be incorporated into an individual's overall wellness experience.

Why Frequency-Based Wellness Is Gaining Attention

Frequency is fundamental to the world around us. Sound, light, electrical activity and electromagnetic phenomena can all be described in terms of frequency. As technology continues to advance, wellness practitioners have access to increasingly sophisticated tools designed to deliver specific forms of energy, light, sound, vibration and frequency.

This creates an emerging intersection between ancient energetic

traditions and modern technology.

For today's holistic practitioner, this can mean expanding the wellness toolbox beyond conventional approaches and exploring how multiple complementary modalities can be layered together to create a more comprehensive experience.

The Future of Integrative Wellness

The growing research and professional interest in biofield and energy-based approaches does not mean that every modality has been scientifically established for every health condition. Research remains an important part of understanding these technologies, and the evidence varies considerably between different approaches. The 2025 review itself emphasizes that additional research is needed.

What is clear, however, is that interest in energy and biofield-based wellness is growing.

As holistic and integrative wellness continues to evolve, frequency-based technologies represent an intriguing emerging category—one that brings together energy, frequency, light, sound, vibration and technology within a broader whole-body wellness philosophy.

At Advanced Frequency Wellness, we believe the future of wellness will be increasingly integrative—bringing together complementary technologies and modalities to create a more comprehensive approach to the individual.
